Dear Ergot Listeners,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you and tell you that as of today, Sept. 8^th 2007, Ergot Radio will be closing its doors until further notice. At this time, we currently have no funds to continue the station, and the manpower to run it 24 hours a day.

Recently, in June, our main server which housed the Radio Bot crashed and died after 4 years of faithful service and it has since been replaced at my own personal cost. To that extent, a huge portion of what the costs of the radio station incur began to fall upon my shoulders. At this time, I no longer have the means or the necessary budget to be able to carry an expensive burden such as this.

This radio station was founded on the principle that we would provide artists, listeners, and the community at large a venue to share their music; a way to get themselves heard for free and across the globe. At first, we had the financial backing to undertake such a task and not worry about the costs, but now we have come to a head. The station has generated very little in the ways of donations, and although we appreciate the gifts we received and used them solely for the purpose of expanding the station, we found out that we did not receive enough monthly to cover the costs.

We thank you all for listening and thank the artists that helped shape this station by bringing their talent and artistry for the world to see. Please feel free to visit their MySpaces and tell them how much you appreciate their talent and support them. They make music so you can enjoy it.

And so it is with this letter to you, the listeners, that I must inform you that until further notice, the station will be shut down and no longer in service until a source of funding can be stabilized.
